LEGAL STATUS
What is your legal status?
Hearts 4 Peace is registered federally in Canada and provincially in Alberta (Head Office) as a corporate consulting firm. The firm is also registered with respective governments in our country branches like Uganda.

What is your legal corporate name?
H4P full corporate name is “Hearts 4 Peace Consulting Inc”

Where are you mandated to work?
H4P has the mandate to offer professional development and other consulting services worldwide.

Is this a faith-based organization?
H4P is not a faith-based company. We serve and work with all religious denominations worldwide the same way we work with families, workplaces, schools, governments etc.

Who started this company?
Mr. Sam Madesi is the founder of Hearts 4 Peace. Madesi partnered with colleagues highly experienced in peace, health, adult and community development education; thereby forming a broad-based team that will help you to grow professionally and give you true return on investment.

FEES AND TAXES
How much do your sessions cost?
Every course is different depending on where it is being offered. We will advertise the fees and other financial requirements for all our scheduled courses. We will send you a quote for customisable on-site courses when you order for one. Our site is being upgraded to show all fees for all services. In the meantime, please contact us for current fees structure.

Are there any subsidies or scholarships?
We always have subsidies and sponsored courses whenever we get donations and grants from well-wishers that support our peacebuilding programs. Sometimes donors are very specific about where their monies should be spent. For instance, if a donor wants their monies to cover costs for a peacebuilding program for women affected by domestic violence in Calgary, selected women would attend the course at no cost. Alternatively, we also work with groups and organizations to prepare capacity building proposals at no cost.

Do I get a refund if I do not attend a session I had paid for?
You get a full refund if you notify us two weeks before the beginning date. H4P invests heavily on workshop materials and processes depending on numbers, therefore not showing up or late cancellation will still cost us.

What is your Goods and Services (GST) number?
Our (GST/HST) number is: 81774  1663  RT0001

Which GST do I pay if am in a different province in Canada or from a different country?
You will pay the GST that your province asks.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Do I have to keep checking your web site to find out if a course of interest to me is being offered?
We encourage you to keep checking our web site for updates on courses as well as new programs, events and offers that might be of interest to you. However, you can also join our email list now and we will keep you posted.

Are there registration deadlines?
All registration deadlines will be advertised along with the course. We encourage early registrations to enable our animating team to plan for the exact number of participants. This helps both the animators and participants to be prepared, orderly and reduces the last minute hustle and stress. Also, we usually send materials ahead of strting dates meaning that if you register late, you might look a stranger in your own class on your first day.

When do I get to pay for the course of my choice?
Payment is required during registration. Our online registration system will require payment before fully registering and confirming that you have a place in our class.

What are your acceptable methods of payment?
Credit cards, debit cards, cheque’s, cash @ our office, and money orders. Our online system accepts most of these methods as well.

Is there an academic requirement for your courses?
We are not an academic institution; we are a professional growth and development consulting firm. For some professional growth courses, we ask participants to have a minimum professional experience in order to comprehend the content and processes of such courses. Our advertisements will indicate whether any experience is required.

Do you have a campus for your courses? Where are they conducted?
We believe that the most effective way of learning is to decentralize the learning process closer to your family, workplace, and community or wherever you might be. We understand how difficult it is for you to leave your family or workplace to come and attend our courses. We also understand how even more difficult it might be if you were to attend more and more of our courses. We make every arrangement to make sure that learning occurs within your reach. We also offer on-site courses, so you can order for a course, workshop, seminar, lunch & learn and consulting services and we will be right at your site.

Is there a way of confirming my registration?
If you are registering online, our system will confirm that you have been registered. Please, make sure you print out a receipt before you close your browser. A receipt could also be sent to your email automatically by our system. If you are registering by phone, mail or in person at our office, the customer service representative will confirm your registration with you.

Is there anything I need to do after successfully registering for a course?
We will introduce you to the learning you will have chosen and orient you even before you come for your first day. The whole point is to get you in the mood for your learning and prepare you to run rather than walk on the first day of your study. Sometimes, depending where the learning is being conducted, this is the time when we advise you about your travel, accommodation, meals, parking etc.

CONTENT AND PROCESS
Who developed your training resources?
The content of our manuals is mainly developed by our animating team. Some individuals within our animating team have also developed their own manuals that we also use. A few manuals like stepping stones have been adopted and in those instances, the original authors have been fully recognized.

What are your training methodologies?
We use highly participatory learning methodologies with relevant case studies, field studies, learning artefacts, exceptional guest speakers, relevant videos, participatory research and many other learner based, learner centered, learner driven and learner managed.

Do you give out resources during your sessions?
Almost all our learning’s have participant manuals. We also offer other supporting resources.

Do you have accommodation, meals, and parking arrangements for the course period?
Depending on where the learning is taking place, we advise you on this in our advertisement.

Do you have fixed begin and end time for your courses?
We do fix dates and hours when we schedule a course and invite you to register. Those dates and hours will depend on the audience we are targeting. For dates, it could be summer when schools are in holidays if the audience is school teachers or students. For hours, it could be all day if the audience is company staff who want to get it done as soon as possible or just evening or just weekends for working dads and mums.

What is the appropriate dress code for your courses?
You dress the way you like. We do not have a dress code and do not plan to have one. All we ask is that you dress in a way that builds peace with others.

Is there a provision that would enable me to finish my course at a later date if I can’t attend my entire course?
Yes, you’re allowed one comeback to make-up for the sessions you missed at a later date when the same course is offered.

AFTER YOUR COURSE
How can I keep in touch with you after my course?
All participants in our learning processes are automatically added to our Alumni list and we will always keep you posted. Also, we strongly recommend that you on our blogs and facebook fan page and keep in touch with millions of other peace, adult and community development professionals around the world.

Do you recruit from your graduates?
Sometimes we identify experienced educators form our classes and mentor them to join our animating team.

What can I do with the certificate I get?
Our courses are aimed at helping business and development professionals to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes as a professional workers and peacebuilders. Skills gained can be applied in various contexts ie, peace, adult, community, and health education,  management and administration, social work and social administration, poverty and violence reduction, youth empowerment, etc.

Do you offer further support to your clients that have gone through your courses?
We will be happy to continue working with you and supporting you after your course with us. You only have to contact us and let us know how we can help you.

How do I continue to receive your mails if I change my address, Job, or email?
If there is any changes in your address, mail, job or other, please notify us with new changes and we will be happy to edit your contact details.

Can I buy your training manuals? How much is each?
Yes you can. For now, you will have to contact us. Our website is being upgraded for shopping cats for your  future shopping needs.

Who do you typically partner with?
We partner with individuals, companies, organizations, institutions, religious institutions, governments and their departments, willing to offer their time, resources, knowledge or other for peacebuilding in families, workplaces and communities.

Which part of the world do you accept partners?
No exceptions. All over the world.

Can I volunteer for your outdoor peace events?
Yes you can volunteer with us by contacting our customer service at: 1-403-45-PEACE, or 1-866-73-PEACE, info@hearts4peace.com. If H4P is organizing an event in your community, check on the event advertisement and contact the local organizers.

I’m a student with an interest in peacebuilding and community development. Can I have a practicum opportunity with you?
Please contact our customer service and they will direct you to the right person you can talk to depending on what you are studying and how you want to be involved.
